Derby's Breastfeeding Campaign
Many mothers are too embarrassed to feed their babies in public because of the adverse reaction they receive, according to women's groups in Derby.

To combat the problem, Derby City Council's women's advisory committee held a campaign to raise awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding.

The campaign was launched on International Women's Day – Thursday, March 8 – which each year encourages groups all around the world to organise events aimed at promoting improved lives for women.

As well as calling for more breastfeeding facilities for mums in Derby, the campaign will also highlight the benefits of breastfeeding.

A breastfeeding support group meets every Thursday between 10am and 11.30am at St Peter's Church, in St Peter's Churchyard, Derby. All mothers are welcome and a health visitor and a breastfeeding adviser is available for advice and information.
